Within

Outline

Within deals with thoughts of what might have been. Think of those moments in life where you might encounter a fork in the road, and you have to make a decision. Or specifically, the moment when you know which is the right fork to take, but take the other, regardless.

Within centres on a middle-aged, nameless character who, after an event that profoundly affects him, takes the time to reflect on where he is in life. He starts to ask himself how he got there. What if he’d taken that other fork? Where might he have been? And what drove those decisions? Who is to blame?

Casting

All roles in Within are unpaid. Everyone involved with the project will be fed and watered, and travel expenses will be covered where needed. Within will be submitted to film festivals, so it will be an amazing credit to have, and the movie is guaranteed to be a bit different.

Most roles, even the main characters, are non-speaking due to the style of the film, so a strong visual look is important. It also means accent or learning lines doesn’t come into these roles. Roles are often classed as “speaking” or “non-speaking’, which wouldn’t mean anything for Within, so the roles have been put into three categories, as follows:

Main – these are roles key to the story and interact with the main character
Keyroles are key to the story but may or may not interact with the main character
Support – these roles are essential to create situations

The roles categorised as Support shouldn’t be confused with supporting artists/extras. There will be a number of SAs needed, which will be listed separately once shoot dates are finalised.
