Michelle
Michelle is the glue that keeps the Garrett family together. She’s the one that they all turn to when they have a problem. She is a homemaker, in every sense of the word, and always endeavours to make things just how her men like them. At heart, she is a peacemaker, massaging relationships in the home so that everyone can get along together without too much friction.
Michelle is a dreamer and makes daily escapes in her mind from her everyday life. She has a love of the arts, particularly music and theatre – the more dramatic, the better. Music accompanies her everywhere, particularly in the kitchen, where she spends most of her day. If she’s not in there cooking, then she’s relaxing with a cuppa at the kitchen table, but the radio is always on. Showtunes are her favourite means of escape. In Michelle’s eyes, neither of her sons can do any wrong. She advises them on everything but work matters, which is Mick’s department. She’s not afraid to keep the boys in line, especially when they start bickering. Even then, it’s funny how there never seems to be anyone in the wrong.
Michelle’s best friend is Sue, the wife of Mick’s best friend, Derek. Although Sue is the polar opposite of Michelle’s down to earth wife and mother, her flamboyance and outrageously outspoken behaviour lifts and amuses Michelle.
